Artist Statement

My paintings celebrate the ordinary and the commonplace; an abandoned house, the detritus of nature and the elements of everyday life. They create an appreciation of texture and a delight in color. They are memories made visible.

I find flowers scary. They are complicated. I took the time to look. This is painted over another painting which gives it some depth. Maybe
flowers aren't scary after all. Just pretty and joyous.

This is different and I like it. It's substantial and hearty. I could hug it.
