Artist Statement

My paintings celebrate the ordinary and the commonplace; an abandoned house, the detritus of nature and the elements of everyday life. They create an appreciation of texture and a delight in color. They are memories made visible.

"Room with A View". My view

We are in Tourtour,France No I am not stuttering This small town is called "Le Village dans le ciel" and is a painters' delight with views and subjects around every corner. My studio apartment is located upon the town park where young men play aggressive games of boules and is within walking distance off where Suzanne, Bobbi and Joelle are staying. I enjoy breakfast with them with fresh breads,.homemade jams, and freshly brewed tea. heaven with views of the mountain which Cezanne captured in the distance.
We painted yesterday amidst the many visitors out for a Sunday stroll. Perhaps they thought that we were part of the local entertainment. This painting is my first attempt, the roof tops outside my "gite".

I finally figured out how to 'comment' to you. Looking good - art and pic. It was good to hear from you and that all is well there as it is here. A little feedback - I can not read the green lettering unless i put my cursor on it.

I found a sign-up sheet from Carol Chambers for Winding and Dining on your door step. Do you want to participate? I can tell her you will respond when you return??

Missing you and continue the good times. Marsha
