My paintings celebrate the ordinary and the commonplace; an abandoned house, the detritus of nature and the elements of everyday life. They create an appreciation of texture and a delight in color. They are memories made visible.

On a recent trip to Mt. Vernon, Maine with my painting group I took old panels to paint over and on. Here is the result of one. I like the softness of the light and the flowers, a mother's day bouquet to one of the gals. When using an old surface the surprises can be great.
